From a series of studies of mycelium branching structures.
A monotype is a singular and unrepeatable artwork typically made by painting/drawing with liquid or soft medium(s) on a nonporous surface. The image is then transferred from the plate to a sheet of paper by using a traditional printing press. The resulting artwork is a unique blend of painting, drawing, and printmaking.
This artwork is best suited to archival float mounting behind plexiglass and in a light colour wood frame. We can provide you with our recommendations for moulding and instructions to pass along to your framer. If preferred, framing can be provided in-house at an additional cost.
