Dan Godlovitch | Lance Austin Olsen

When I was a young kid I loved westerns. Particularly the dark, moody Glenn Ford films such as 3.10 to Yuma (1957) and The Fastest Gun Alive (1956). When I got older, I began collecting recordings of radio plays – a favourite being the radio version of Gunsmoke (1952-1961) with William Conrad. There is a style and pacing to the voices on these plays which conjures up imagery of the ‘wild west’ totally unique from those I saw in film. – Lance Austin Olsen
