SNOWFIELD
Jamie Drouin | Lance Austin Olsen

Originally released by Infrequency Editions in 2003, Snowfield represents one of the earliest collaborative recordings of Drouin & Olsen. Conceived for a sound installation of the same name at The Folly Gallery (Lancaster, UK)*, Snowfield used a remote snow-covered landscape in British Columbia measuring the same dimensions as the gallery exhibition room. All sounds were derived from interacting within this zone, which were then played back on a quadraphonic system within the otherwise empty gallery later that year.
